Product Description
The IC695CPU310 is a 300 MHz Central Processing Unit from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series. The IC695CPU310 has an Intel Celeron (Pentium III) microprocessor with 10 MB of RAM and 10 MB of flash storage. It also has a pair of embedded serial ports for RS-232 and RS-485 communications. Both ports face front on the chassis for easy access. The IC695CPU310 supports three different serial protocols (Modbus RTU Slave, SNP, and Serial I/O), all of which work with programmable logic controllers to structure the ways in which PLCs supply information: IC695CPU310 uses the SNP Slave protocol to communicate with HMI (human machine interface) devices.
Eight LEDs on the face of the chassis let you see system status at a glance, so that you can tell whether the CPU, battery, and communications channels are working as expected. Product documentation reminds you of what LED colors and states mean, but the CPU follows widely accepted conventions: blinks or red lights indicate system faults, while steady green indicates normal operations.
Dual backplane bus architecture supports RX3i PCI and GE Fanuc Series 90-30-style serial bus usage. The CPU itself supports up to 512 program blocks, each with a maximum size of 128 KB. You can program it in the Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram programming languages. You can also program it in C.
RX3i CPUs are programmed and configured by the programming software to perform real-time control of machines, processes, and material handling systems.
